Enjoying the Taste of Freedom ...
by sleepingbeauty inhi guys n girls.... i slipped under the jw radar just one year ago.
i wasn't happy going to meetings as i always felt worthless and everything i did wasnt good enough.
well having managed to miss a few meetings, i thought nothing of sneaking a look at apostate websites.

Finally dared to register
by Hoffnung infinally i registered today.
being a lurker for quite some months, i convinced myself it is time to give my own 2 pence from time to time.
i am living in europe and i am still 'in', although by now i must be counted as an inactive jw.

Welcome, I relate to your experience. I too could not go on field service when I no longer believed it. I told this to my friends and they just stared at me. Hope that you and your wife find peace, it takes a period of time to readjust but you will get there.

Flying to Orlando tomorrow, my daughter is in the hospital
by coffee_black inmy daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia, and possibly a blood clot in her lung.
they'll be testing through the night...apparently, her heart is enlarged as well.
she is scared... and if her jw father catches wind of it, he will be there trying to intefere with her treatment... he lives close by to her, so i'll be flying down in the morning....to head him off at the pass.

So sorry to hear about your awful experience, I hope that all goes well with hubby and his recovery. I would suggest you get a crash course in CPR through your local Red Cross or fire department, it really does save lives.
Thinking of you

Haha, good one. I am a brit living abroad and even I cringe at times. On holiday (yes Tenerife) overheard a couple moaning to each other on the bus trip about why the signs couldn't be in english on the roads! Hello! Same holiday I pretended I could not speak english with my friends as the table next to us had the foulest mouthed people I have ever heard, but what made it worse was the fact that they did not seem to realise that they were offending people; to them it was normal speech.
Long socks in sandels with shorts, red knees from the sun, as well as anything else that sticks out. Talking louder because they think that makes the poor person not speaking english understand better, etc etc

So sorry to hear of your loss.
Sorry also for the inhumanity of those close to you, they are lacking something deep down, empathy.
Hope you can rise above all of the meaness and concentrate on your mum and siblings, your love will do more good than anything else.

Thank you for starting this thread.
Grandad wounded in trenches at Ypres during WW1, served with the Royal Fussiliers. Dad in the RAF during WW11 and stationed out in Burma, never really could talk about the stuff he saw, he helped get the prisoners of war back from the death road the japanese built, he said it was horrific to see them. He served eight years in the RAF
Son and son in law and daughter in law with NATO forces down in Afghanistan 2009,2010 now one in Kosovo, peace keeping. They have seen too much as well, yet they have pulled through. One more casualty from their team went down this week, family father commited suicide. The emotional toll is very high for these guys and their families. They give everything and yet often (over here at least), have little appreciation shown.
When my son came back safe in August he went to Mexico Cancun and met quite a few americans there. When they realised that he and his finacee had been down in Afghanistan they expressed great admiration and appreciation for their sacrifice, they kept shaking their hands. My son said it was a strange experience since he had never had this happen here.
Keep these men and women in mind they pay a high price for keeping us safe.

They have no power over you, none whatso ever, they are just men who think God has given them some authority over you. We call that dillusional, just tell them there is nothing to discuss and you are fine.
Enjoy your life, you deserve it after wasting so much time, I know I was in from childhood until I was 47.
